6-meter banh mi holds national record for highest number of fillings and toppings

At a recent festival in Ho Chi Minh City, a six-meter-long banh mi was awarded a national record for having the most fillings and toppings.
The 150 unique ingredients, including pha lau and salmo with lemon sauce, were showcased on a giant bread model. This variety reflects the diversity of Vietnamese cuisine and is one of the reasons why banh mi is so popular worldwide. The festival itself featured over 130 pavilions with various banh mi creations and attracted an estimated 100,000 visitors.
Although banh mi has French origins, the Vietnamese have added their own unique twist with ingredients like cilantro and chili, making it a beloved street food across the globe.
